   JP Silent Captured Spring Buffer Retainer Pin and Spring While you can use a standard buffer retainer pin and spring with your Silent Captured Spring, installation and removal is difficult to say the least. Until now, that's left the only option of storing the SCS loose. Fortunately, we have a solution. This new buffer retainer pin design allows for easy installation and removal of the Silent Captured Spring while ensuring unerring retention. Your SCS will never drop unexpectedly out of your lower again. Plus, this design works equally well with a standard AR buffer and spring. It's a little thing, but what a difference it makes. Compatibility: Like a standard buffer retainer pin, this design is not compatible with Variable Mass Operating System (VMOS™) carriers. This buffer retainer pin is designed to work only with conventional buffer tubes and not those with a slotted lip feature designed to extend around the buffer retainer pin. The slotted feature may prevent this buffer retainer pin from fully presenting and will not retain the SCS. When running a Silent Captured Spring in this type of buffer tube, we recommend against use of buffer retainer pin. This buffer retainer is designed for use with the JP Silent Captured Spring and will not retain a standard buffer assembly as well as a Mil-spec buffer retainer.  MADE IN THE USA

9mm Short Stroke Conversion Kit for JPSCS2-9 Silent Captured Spring  This conversion kit allows the changeover of any existing Gen-2 4-mass 9mm Silent Captured Spring (JPSCS2-9) to a 5-mass short stroke version. The complete package includes the following: 5-mass slider steel mass 5x replacement o-rings snap ring spare buffer retention screw chamber flag instruction sheet The 9mm Short Stroke Version provides the same reliable buffering as our other 9mm SCS models but with a shorter overall stroke. Designed for competitors looking for every edge, this model offers snappier cycling with even less felt recoil thanks to the shorter stroke. Note that because of its shorter travel, a short stroke Silent Captured Spring will not actuate the bolt catch on 9mm carbine receivers unless you have the current version of our 9mm bolt assembly. But, as our PCC stars always say, if you run your mag. empty at a match, you've done something wrong. Plus, the superior cycling more than makes up for it.  Compatibility The JPSCS2-9SS-4/5K will only convert Gen-2 9mm SCS systems and is not compatible with Gen-1 SCS’s. Our pursuit of perfection didn’t stop with springs though and led ultimately to the creation of the patented Silent Captured Spring in 2012. Maintaining all the benefits of our polished buffer springs and proprietary LMOS™ buffer, this combination buffer-spring assembly eliminates the friction of standard buffer components resulting in outstanding smoothness and sound abatement. What’s more, the spring is removable from the assembly for custom tuning, and both the AR-15 and AR-10 versions of the JP Silent Captured Springs are functional in rifle- and carbine-length operating systems. The AR-15 version fits and functions in any gas-operated AR-15 variant, regardless of caliber. The result is even softer recoil thanks to a further delay in blowback. The Enhanced Version 9mm SCS is the best option for reliability and durability with hotter ammunition. It's also the best pairing for use with non-JP bolt assemblies where a central mass needs to be removed. Recommended Use: Short-barreled rifles (SBRs) Suppressed weapons Rifles recommended to use an H2 buffer Select-fire rifles Piston-operated rifles Weight: 6.6 oz. (final SCS unit) Compatibility The JPSCS2-10 is designed to work in standard 7-inch M16/M4-length buffer extension tubes on .308 AR-type rifles like the DPMS LR-308. Armalite .308 rifles, likewise, use these standard M16 extension tubes with rifle-length stocks, so this unit will function normally when installed with the supplied spacer. However, Armalite's .308 carbines use a slightly longer, non-standard carbine extension tube. The JPSCS2-10 can still be used with these extension tubes by installing the spacer, which must be modified to fit. Alternately, the system will function readily if the longer Armalite carbine tube is replaced with a standard 7-inch .223 carbine extension tube. The JPSCS2-10 is not compatible with the HK MR762, the Sig Sauer 716, or the Rock River Arms LAR-8 because of their longer bolt stroke and subsequently longer extension tube. The JPSCS2-10 requires is minimum depth of 4.4” which is incompatible with the DPMS GII, Remington R-25 GII and certain other rifles. It is also not compatible with the POF Revolution DI due to its slightly altered geometry or the Daniel Defense DD5 bolt carrier due to a lack of clearance for the guide rod.
