   JP Silent Captured Spring Buffer Retainer Pin and Spring While you can use a standard buffer retainer pin and spring with your Silent Captured Spring, installation and removal is difficult to say the least. Until now, that's left the only option of storing the SCS loose. Fortunately, we have a solution. This new buffer retainer pin design allows for easy installation and removal of the Silent Captured Spring while ensuring unerring retention. Your SCS will never drop unexpectedly out of your lower again. Plus, this design works equally well with a standard AR buffer and spring. It's a little thing, but what a difference it makes. Compatibility: Like a standard buffer retainer pin, this design is not compatible with Variable Mass Operating System (VMOS™) carriers. This buffer retainer pin is designed to work only with conventional buffer tubes and not those with a slotted lip feature designed to extend around the buffer retainer pin. The slotted feature may prevent this buffer retainer pin from fully presenting and will not retain the SCS. When running a Silent Captured Spring in this type of buffer tube, we recommend against use of buffer retainer pin. Our pursuit of perfection didn’t stop with springs though and led ultimately to the creation of the patented Silent Captured Spring in 2012. Maintaining all the benefits of our polished buffer springs and proprietary LMOS™ buffer, this combination buffer-spring assembly eliminates the friction of standard buffer components resulting in outstanding smoothness and sound abatement. What’s more, the spring is removable from the assembly for custom tuning, and both the AR-15 and AR-10 versions of the JP Silent Captured Springs are functional in rifle- and carbine-length operating systems. The AR-15 version fits and functions in any gas-operated AR-15 variant, regardless of caliber.   AR-15 5.56 / .223 / .300 BLK Enhanced Bolt Cam Pin  Mil-spec never dies, but it's way past its prime. When it comes to ARs, the smaller the part, the less people think about it. But that doesn't mean there's not room for improvement almost everywhere you look. Both in design and manufacturing, there are always gains to be made. The JP Enhanced Cam Pin retains every critical Mil-spec dimension of the part but improves on both design and finish. A smoother operating system with lower overall wear in the components is the result. In addition to receiving our low-friction QPQ finish, our Enhanced Cam Pins are also machined thicker than the usual undersized dimension of standard pins. An undersized pin drops right in but allows slop in the relationship between bolt, bolt carrier and cam pin. Looseness in these parts stresses the cam pin hole of the bolt during cycling, which is why bolt breakage is so common at this point. It also wears the cam pin faster as the carrier wears into the material at the bearing points. A tighter pin with low-friction coating cuts all this wear down dramatically. Finally, we hold the upper receiver-to-cam pin width precisely to keep the bolt in alignment with the barrel. This reduces premature lug wear to the barrel extension.
